How Olevus Works
You do not need to be a professional creator or publish constantly to matter here. A thoughtful Response, a useful question, an answer from your own experience, or support for another member can all strengthen the conversations and communities around you.
Everyone has a voice. On Olevus, what you contribute determines the weight that voice carries.
You do not have to be a creator
Most contribution on Olevus is not publishing. It is participating with substance.
Meaningful participation includes responding thoughtfully, answering a question, sharing firsthand experience, voting in a poll, asking something worth discussing, welcoming a new member, joining a community conversation, reposting something worth extending, attending or participating in an event, and supporting the creator behind meaningful content.
- You may know something that helps the person asking.
- You may have lived through something that adds context to a discussion.
- You may disagree and still move the conversation forward.
- You may simply help a strong idea reach people who would value it.
What matters is substance, not how often you post.
Ways to contribute
Responses
A Response adds directly to the conversation beneath a post, article, video, or poll. Use it when you can add context, experience, an answer, or a thoughtful point of disagreement.
Example:Answering “how did you handle this?” with what actually worked for you.
Replies
Reply when your point is directed to a specific Response rather than the conversation as a whole.
Example:Asking one member to expand on a claim they made in their Response.
Poll votes
Voting is a valid form of participation. It helps the person asking understand what the community thinks.
Example:Voting on which challenge a community should tackle first.
Questions
Ask when you genuinely want to learn something, and give enough context for people to answer well.
Example:“What changed your mind about this in the last year?”
Community discussions
Publish inside a community when the conversation belongs to that group rather than your profile alone.
Example:Sharing a harvest result in an agriculture community rather than in isolation.
Reposts
Repost content when it deserves another audience or when you want to continue the conversation with your own perspective.
Example:Reposting an article and adding what it missed from your field.
Events
Attend or participate in a community event when you want to be present in the conversation as it happens.
Example:Joining a community event and bringing a question with you.
Gifts
A gift supports the creator behind the content. Gifts do not buy reach, ranking, Standing, or organic influence.
Example:Gifting a member whose explanation saved you a week of work.
What you can publish
Post
Use it when you have an observation, question, update, opinion, experience, or idea that can be expressed directly.
Example:“What is one lesson you learned later than you should have?”
Create it from Create → Post.
Photo post
Use it when the image is part of the story. Add enough context for people to understand why it matters.
Example:A before-and-after image with a short explanation of what changed.
Attach photos to a post in the composer.
Video
Use it when showing, demonstrating, explaining, or capturing the moment communicates more effectively than text. Videos can run up to 3 minutes and 300 MB.
Example:Walking through a repair you just finished, on camera.
Create it from Create → Video, or attach a video to a post.
Poll
Use it when you genuinely want the community’s opinion, experience, or preference. A poll is attached to a post through the existing composer.
Example:“Which of these matters most in your work right now?”
Add a poll while writing a post.
Article
Use it when a post does not give you enough room to fully develop the idea. The difference is not word count — it is whether the idea needs structure, sections, and sustained argument.
Example:What you learned from building, managing, or practicing something over several years.
Create it from Create → Article.
Responses are where conversations grow
Responses are how conversations develop on Olevus. Add what you know—not only whether you agree.
- A top-level Response addresses the original contribution.
- A reply addresses a specific Response.
- A community discussion is published within the context of that community.
- Use the most relevant thread rather than splitting one conversation unnecessarily.
- Respectful disagreement is welcome.
- Openness does not remove the expectation of substance or individual dignity.
Find something worth joining
You do not have to arrive with something prepared to publish. Start with a conversation that already needs another perspective.
Discover surfaces active conversations, Trending Discussions, active communities, the members you follow, open polls, and recent articles and videos — along with the activity inside the communities you have joined.
Supporting other members
Support is not limited to money. Attention, participation, context, and connection all help strong contributions grow.
Support includes following, responding, replying, reposting, joining a community, attending an event, and gifting eligible creators.
Gifts provide direct support to the creator behind eligible content. Purchased coins are platform credits and are not redeemable by the purchaser. Gifts do not buy Standing, ranking, reach, search position, or organic influence.

Reputation and Standing
Reputation is what other members come to recognize in the value of your contribution over time.
Standing is your private view of how your current participation, trust, and relevance are developing.
Neither can be purchased. Paid plans, purchases, and gifts cannot buy Standing, ranking, reach, or organic influence.
- The quality of a contribution matters more than the volume of activity.
- Standing may change as your participation changes.
- Reputation reflects recognition accumulated over time.
- Neither is a point total, a rank, or a leaderboard.
